Wooden rugby ball tee

This wooden rugby ball tee is a more affordable version of our solid oak ball base which we make 100% in France!

Buying a rugby ball without its base is really complicated. We are aware that the tee to present your ball represents a significant cost that you probably did not foresee when you bought it.

For several months, we have been looking for ways to reduce the cost of manufacturing our current oak base. Mission impossible, without having to cut back on the quality of the wood by buying scrap wood from a sawmill for example, or by outsourcing and automating the pre-turning stages such as cutting, grading and mortising the oak, but there is no longer much interest in making the small quantities we need.

To guarantee a low price, only the cost of labour and the type of wood chosen (in this case rosewood, which is very common in tropical countries), can allow us to be significantly cheaper than the oak tee. This is how we found a workshop outside of Europe that is able to produce large quantities at a quality equal to our entire range. Rosewood is similar to olive wood in terms of appearance except that it is much more accessible both in quantity and price. It has a high density which makes it heavier and more stable.

We then gave him our specifications to make a base with a vintage look with a commitment to a large quantity. After a few exchanges of photos and debriefing (by video), we received our first samples. So here is our wooden tee for a rugby ball!!

The tee base is made of exotic wood like Dalbergia. Some people call it “rosewood” or “Rio rosewood”, it is easy to work with.

This one is not made in France and is intended to offer a base for your ball, at a lower cost.
