Product description

This is the most vintage version of our antique leather and lace soccer ball.

You will appreciate the choice of this light coloured antique patina which sometimes tends towards havana / camel and sometimes towards honey colour giving it all its cachet and its antique look, as we like it.

As always, it is the thickness and quality of the leather (vegetable tanning) that characterise the product that leaves our workshops. We are far from the “plastic” aspect linked to the chemical tanning of the models that can be found on many sites. We do not claim to have the most beautiful balls because some prefer the modern, but simply to offer you a very different quality of manufacture. The light brown patina varies a little over the years. In the past it was more of a honey colour and now it is more of a tan colour.

Depending on the exposure of the vintage ball at the time the photo was taken, the colour also varies, so it is important to take into consideration where you want to display it. You will also understand why our photos are always taken in “conditions” and not in a photo studio on a white background. This allows us to use both daylight and the light of a living room lamp for example. The laces used have been carefully worked to make it even more vintage.

Most of our products have one of our different stamps which are “Handcrafted since 1924-Designed in France-Vegetable tan leather by Ben & Flo” or sometimes “Epic Sport Outfitters London” or “Guball Sports London England All leather Handsewn since 1966” depending on which batch they belong to (we have several workshops and sell in several countries).

So why are we talking about an old soccer ball when we still make it? As we explain in our FAQ, every piece that leaves our workshop has been made by hand for several generations. No process has really changed.

It is not a reproduction as can be found at Maison du monde or other sites specialising in vintage balls which copy the process, but which they adapt to produce mass-produced balls.
